Not surprisingly, the BBRGC has become very popular over the past years and we’ve seen a dramatic increase in the number of Associate applications.  Given that our Constitution bounds us to a predetermined limit (ie. 20%) as well as a requirement to ensure the “membership of the Club must be maintained to ensure that military personnel and their dependents are able to fully participate in the operation and activities of the Club,” it is unfortunate that all Associate applications cannot be accepted.  As such, the Executive Committee has the very difficult task of evaluating/reviewing all applications and determining which Associate applicants can be accepted.  Consequently, it is important for all Associate members to understand that future selection criteria will place substantial emphasis on considerations such as seniority in the club, participation/ visibility in club activities, and/or how a particular applicant represents the club’s mandate/motto/ethos.  Also important to note is that acceptance as an Associate member in one year cannot guarantee acceptance in any future year(s).

While the BBRGC has been increasing in popularity, the importance of remaining compliant with Canadian Forces regulations as well as our own Constitution cannot be overstated.  Unfortunately we do not have the ability to accept all Associate applications and will only be able to vote in Associate members as our Regular/Ordinary membership increases.

All recreational clubs, to include the BBRGC, will be accessible to PSP Plan members. For those who are not interested in becoming PSP Plan members, PSP will be offering a ‘One Club’ membership. This will cost members a flat administration fee of $35 / year above and beyond the membership costs of the club. This structure will be applied to all Borden clubs and will need to be considered by our membership when renewing for FY 24/25.
